Cieux is located 27 km noth/west from Limoges, 7 km from Oradour sur Glane, 17 km from St Junien (RN147) and 17 km from Bellac (RN145), also 27 km from A20 exit 26 Nantiat/Compreignac.
This old coachstage from the 18th century was restaured in 1995/96. Combination between wood and granite.
The restaurant is warm, agreable, and spaceful, ideal for a pleasant break. For groups or parties, there are also two rooms (30/60 or together 100 guests). In the summer you can enjoy the terraces with the view of the lake and the peaceful countryside.
Our Chef cooks from fresh products, according to the seasons, local spécialities such as Limousin beef, veal and lamb, as well as fresh sweet or sea water fish. And the sweet-lovers may choose among a large range of home-made desserts.

The Monts de Blond Hilly area full of history and legends, the Monts de Blond are the first steps before the Massif Central. Frontier between two dialects : Oc and Oil, which gave the region his character. Langue d'Oc became the todays french language. You pass rapidly through table-land and mounts in short distances, with magnificient and various sceneries and preserved nature and flora. Thousand of sources (springs) run down the hills and you will find several ponds all over the countryside. All the standing rocks 'Dolmens and Menhirs' remind to a prehistorical times. This is a land of megaliths and morains. You can find the Menhir of Ceinturat, the Roche Branlante from Boscartus and the Circus of the megaliths in Cieux. Further on, you have Dolmens and Rocks with their legends. Mortemart is one of the nicest village of France with it's castle and Augustinien monastery. On the north-west, on the top of the Monts the Blond, a large wooded area appreciated by walkers. You also will find two superb panoramas : Peyrelade and the Chapel of Vaulry who is also each year a place of pilgrimage, also with a roman way and a granit orientation tablet. In these mounts you may learn a lot of legends attached to certain villages, the traditional architecture, and the authentic and preserved nature. The typical villages in the Monts the Blond are : Blond, Berneuil, Breuilaufa, Chamborêt, Cieux, Javerdat, Montrol-Sénard, Mortemart, Vaulry and now we also have Bellac, Mézières sur Issoire and the sadly well-known Oradour sur Glane.
